Outdoor Adventures provides wilderness education that is experiential and adventurous and promotes responsible stewardship of the environment and our natural resources.
Our trips are co-operative and educational, that is, we provide long-lasting outdoor education through hands-on experience. In addition to providing safe and enjoyable trips, we will get you involved in every aspect of the trip that we can - from understanding the weather, to how to prepare a meal outdoors. You will work closely with others on your trip and help one another learn together. In other words, if you are looking to make new friends and learn new skills, these are the trips for you.

Mandatory pre-trip meetings discuss crucial information, and are held in the Leadership Conference Room of the John Wooden Center (JWC). To ensure overall trip safety and continuity, all participants must attend. Note: If you miss the pre-trip meeting you will lose your spot and are not eligible for a refund.
Outdoor Adventures programs include group gear. You provide personal gear (sleeping bag, backpack, boots, food, etc). OA rents sleeping bags, backpacks, and ground pads (as well as other useful outdoor gear) from our Rental Center in the John Wooden Center. Information on renting equipment is provided at the pre-trip meeting. Group travel and dinners are provided for some outings as indicated.
Please note that our trips are alcohol and drug free. No pets or un-enrolled friends, please!
Wilderness Instructors are students, faculty, staff and alumni with a passion for the outdoors and a desire to share it with others. Instructors are experienced and trained to provide exciting and safe outings.
Wilderness travel has inherent risk of injury or death. As a trip participant, you are responsible for your safety. UCLA Recreation - Outdoor Adventures and its employees assume no liability for any damages arising from outings, so have fun but be careful!
