Den Camp

WELCOME CLASS OF 2017!
In collaboration with Student Affairs, UCLA Recreation is excited to welcome you to UCLA! We are proud to present Den Camp as a unique, fun, and exciting way to begin your time at UCLA.

What is Den Camp?
Den Camp is UCLA's premier Post Orientation Program for first-year students designed to enhance the New Student Orientation experience. At Den Camp, you will have the opportunity to kick off your next four years at UCLA in a camp setting with fellow new Bruins.
Over the course of four days, and through the experience of active, outdoor activities, you will bond with the rest of the Den Camp community, providing a strong set of friendships to begin your first year of UCLA. Integrating a series of small and large group activities, initiatives, conversations, and adventures, Den Camp strives to help you build meaningful connections that you will maintain throughout you college experience.

What happens at Den Camp?

Activities at Den Camp may include hiking, canoeing, team-building games and initiatives, high ropes courses and rock wall climbing, arts and crafts, yoga, sports, campfires, skits and more. You will be placed into a small, intentional group for portions of each day to focus on specific goals such as team-building, leadership, and diversity. There will also be ample opportunity to interact and participate in activities with the entire Den Camp community.

Den Camp is lead by UCLA student leaders who are passionate about making the first year at UCLA a True Bruin Experience. Our seasoned UCLA student leaders will be able to offer advice about UCLA while providing guidance, support and fun as you transition to UCLA.

Please note that Den Camp is an active, outdoor, experiential education based program. If you enjoy playing and relaxing in nature, then this may be the program for you.
