Dangling Bruin

The Dangling Bruin is UCLA's friendly bouldering competition hosted at the UCLA Rock Wall on the first floor of the John-Wooden Center. Come show off your climbing skills and win cool prizes!

The Dangling Bruin is scheduled for three sessions on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 9:00 AM – 6:30 PM. Session times are as follows:

• 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
• 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
• 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

We invite you to register on our online store. For Students and Recreation Members, registration is $29. Sign up for the time slot during which you wish to compete. Dangling Bruin is open to climbers of all levels, including those who have never competed in indoor bouldering before. Your desired competition category for experience level (beginner, intermediate, open) and gender (male, female) will be noted when you check-in at the event.

Climbers will be scored by judges during their two-hour climbing time slot. First, second, and third place in all level/gender combinations will be announced at the end of the competition and prizes will be distributed.

Rental shoes are included with registration if you do not have your own climbing shoes. Oh, and did we mention that you'll get to be the first to try all the newly set climbs?!

All participants will receive a Dangling Bruin 2024 commemorative t-shirt. While an assortment of sizes will be available, it is not guaranteed that your preferred size will be in supply.
