    The John Wooden Center will be reopening in phases so that we can continue to provide services as we repair the damages to the building.

    The Second Floor Is Open!
    The following areas of the John Wooden Center are now open:

    • Pardee Gym
    • Mens & women's locker rooms
    • Pyramid Room & Dynasty Room
    • Second-floor racquetball & squash courts

    The John Wooden Center is currently open with our regular summer hours:

    • Monday-Thursday: 5:30am-10:45pm
    • Friday: 5:30am-9:45pm
    • Saturday-Sunday: 9:00am-7:45pm

    Patrons can access the building from the access road between the John Wooden Center and Intramural Field near the Bike Shop after showing their BruinCard or Recreation Card.

    Classes Resume
    All Recreation classes have resumed in the John Wooden Center. Space is still available in most classes, and you can register online at www.recreation.ucla.edu/register.

    Complimentary Access to KREC
    We value our members and would like to extend an invitation to all current Summer Session students and UCLA Recreation members to use the Kinross Recreation Center (KREC) through August 31, 2014. Please note that this is a smaller facility with limited capacity, so we suggest that you plan your workouts during less busy times such as early morning and midafternoon. KREC is located at: 11000 Kinross Avenue in Westwood Village (near Lot 36) and can be reached by phone at 310.983.3064.

    Work in Progress
    As we continue with repairs to the building, first floor racquetball and squash courts, Collins Court, and the Rock Wall will not be available, and the Bike Shop and Rental Center will remain closed. Please check www.recreation.ucla.edu/floodupdates for ongoing updates.

  • BHIP for Faculty and Staff

    The Bruin Health Improvement Program (BHIP) is a three-month program, starting August 18, that offers participants intensive lifestyle training in areas of exercise, nutrition, stress management and mental conditioning.— exclusively for UCLA faculty and staff at no cost.

    BHIP.5 is a 12-week weight loss program. This program is appropriate for individuals who are 50 lbs or more overweight and are looking for tailored nutritional guidance and increased physical activity.

    BHIP OnRamp is a comprehensive conditioning program that will improve cardiovascular fitness and overall strength and mobility and appropriate for individuals without current limitations looking to become much more physically active and nutritionally mindful.
