Membership activation and renewal for employees, alumni, affiliates and other non-student populations. The membership application is alos used for the purchase of fitness passes, locker services, BHIP Continuation, and parking (alumni and affiliates only).

For UCLA Extension students, student summer memberships, students not attending in the current quarter, students from other universities, and student families. Please stop by one of our locations to purchase, as verification of student status is required.

Recreation Classes and Activities Refund Policy
Minimum refund request is $5. Refund requests received by noon 2 business days prior to the first class or meeting receive a 90% refund and requests received prior to the 2nd class meeting may be refunded 50%. There are no refunds after the 2nd class meeting. There are no refunds for Marina Aquatic Center (MAC) Classes and Outdoor Adventure (OA) trips after noon, 2 business days prior to first class or meeting.
Class Transfer Policy
Transfer requests for FITWELL/Instructional Program classes receive a 100% credit towards another class if used in the same quarter, space permitting. Transfer requests for MAC Classes or OA Trips must be received 2 days prior to the first class or meeting and must be used within 90 days.
Personal Fitness Training and Private Instruction
If you choose to pay for sessions in advance, a refund may be issued for unused sessions less a $25 processing fee if the request is received by UCLA Recreation within 6 months of the purchase. Sessions expire 6 months after the date of purchase.
Outdoor Equipment Rental Center
Full refunds are not available for reserved gear. Either a partial refund (90%) or a credit voucher that is valid for 90 days at the Equipment-Rental Center may be obtained when a refund-request form is submitted the Equipment-Rental Center by noon at least five business-days prior to the day that reserved gear is scheduled to be rented (e.g., to refund gear reserved for pick-up on a Friday, a refund-request form must be submitted by noon on the previous Friday).
Refund requests are reviewed by the Intramural Sports staff.
Membership Refund/Transfer Request Form
Membership card(s) must be surrendered when submitting a refund request form. No refunds for short-term memberships (less than 12 months).
Annual memberships paid up front are refunded for of the following reasons (and are subject to a one month cancellation fee and require documentation):
- Termination of employment
- Transfer off-campus
- Formal leave of absence and sabbaticals
- Changes in medical condition resulting in physical limitations
Payroll deduction memberships may be cancelled at any time with 30-day written notice. No refunds are issued on payroll deduction.
Fitness Pass must be surrendered with the refund request. There are no refunds for quarter passes. Annual Fitness Pass refunds will follow the Membership Refund Policy.
A 50% refund will be given only for the cancellation of an annual locker rental within six months of purchase. The locker must be cleared. No refunds will be issued for short-term rentals.
BHIP paid by payroll deduction may be cancelled at any time with 30-day written notice. There are no refunds for BHIP Continuation paid up front per quarter or other short-term duration.
